In 2014, Traywick & Traywick recovered $652,000 for a client who as a passenger suffered a broken arm and post-concussive syndrome as a result of a serious car accident.

CAR ACCIDENTS

In 2014, Traywick & Traywick recovered $350,000 for a client who, as a pedestrian, was hit by a van operated by a regional distribution company. He suffered a broken arm and broken rib, among other injuries. The driver of the van claimed that our client stepped right out in front of him, and the evidence showed that the accident did occur in the travel portions of the roadway, rather than in the pedestrian crosswalk. Despite these indications that the client was at fault, the firm was able to secure this favorable recovery in what is known to be a relatively defense-friendly county.

CAR ACCIDENTS

In 2014 Traywick & Traywick recovered $250,000 for an elderly client who tripped and fell at a local business. Through extensive investigation and discovery, the firm’s lawyers were able to demonstrate that the entryway to the building did not comply with applicable building codes and industry standards. This evidence was the key to the outcome, which was particularly favorable given the conservative venue in which the case was litigated.

$250,000

PREMISES LIABILITY

In 2013, we recovered compensation for a car accident victim after she was rear-ended by another driver. Although photographs showed very little damage to the client’s vehicle, she suffered from pre-existing degenerative hip and back conditions, which were exacerbated by the accident. Despite the fact that she had several previous surgeries to her hip and had been in pain management treatment for her back the day of the accident, the firm recovered $175,000 for our client.

$175,000

CAR ACCIDENTS

In 2013, TLO finalized a $125,000 premises liability settlement for a client who tripped and fell over a doorway in a Charleston County nightclub. The client broke her ankle, and the injury required surgery to insert plates and screws into the bone. We used expert testimony to establish that the doorway did not conform to building code requirements, and that client would require future surgery to remove the hardware implanted in her ankle.

$125,000

PREMISES LIABILITY

In 2012 TLO secured the entire $100,000 in available insurance coveragefor a client who as a pedestrian was hit by a car while she crossed the street. The insurance company defended on the basis that the TLO client supposedly was jaywalking, but wound up paying its entire coverage when our team produced a statement from an eyewitness indicating that the defendant was speeding at the time.

$100,000

PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS

In 2012 TLO secured in excess of $100,000 for a client, a former Navy SEAL, whose credit rating was damaged by improper reporting by a publicly traded, multinational financial institution.

$100,000

CONSUMER LAW

In 2013 the South Carolina Workers Compensation Commission approved a $90,000 lump sum settlement to a Traywick & Traywick client who suffered a series of knee injuries while working at several local businesses. The case required the firm to employ several medical experts to analyze the complicated questions of which incident caused which particular parts of the multi-faceted knee ligament injuries. In addition to the lump sum settlement, the client wound up with two years of paid-for medical care, including surgical repair of the knee, and several months’ worth of wages during periods when he was unable to work.

$90,000

WORKERS' COMPENSATION

In 2011, another of the military personnel we proudly represent–this time a Marine–was badly beaten by obviously intoxicated patrons of a local establishment. TLO held the bar accountable, securing just compensation for our client’s broken teeth without filing suit.

UNDISCLOSED

LIABILITY

In 2011 TLO secured four times the medical expenses for a young student at a Lowcountry public school who suffered a head injury when left unsupervised by the school’s faculty and administration.
