Fiery I-26 Crash
A 10 car pile-up occurred on eastbound 1-26 on Wednesday morning, May 27, 2015, just outside of Columbia.
The accident involved a gas tanker (tractor trailer / big rig) that dumped its cargo all over the interstate. The fuel slick even jumped the median into the westbound lane and ignited between exits 106 and 104 between St Andrews Road and Piney Grove Road. The roadway was ablaze and the interstate shut down for hours.
This crash was the worst by far that most motorists have ever seen. The human carnage is unfortunately near certain to be immense. Initial reports are of multiple injuries in this multi vehicle accident. These injuries include burn cases.
While the prayers of loved ones and the activities of doctors are the critical components in the immediate aftermath of this situation, there is a place for lawyers in the picture – since attorneys are best qualified to answer the many questions certain to arise almost immediately: 1) how will I pay for the medical bills? 2) how can I ensure that I get the treatment I need? 3) how will i pay my bills if I am out of work? . . . . and, God forbid, the answers to questions that are worse than those.
